Hrithik attended the premiere of Slumdog Millionaire in Mumbai last night and has all praises for the film and AR Rahman. "They have showed us the way and we'll now follow," said Hrithik. More praise for Hrithik from director Danny Boyle whole film "Slumdog Millionaire" has been nominated for 10 Oscars including Best Picture. Slumdog opens in India on Friday, do not miss it! it's brilliant! the heroes of the movie in my opinion is the two child actors, what a brilliant and beautiful performance. Mark my word this movie is gonna win the Best Picture award.

Boyle thinks Hollywood is no longer closed to other film-makers. "The world is changing. I am sure someday, someone will emerge as the connect between Hollywood and Bollywood...someone like Hrithik Roshan. He is bang on! He is such an extraordinary dancer and a good actor. I am sure some day he will be a part of Hollywood."

The lady behind Hrithik's success

Hrithik thanked the people responsible for his Best Actor award at the recent Screen Awards.

He said, "Jodhaa Akbar is a special film for me because it offered me a challenging role. I was nervous after signing for the film hoping I will be able to do it the role justice."He went on to say, "After signing the film I discussed my apprehension with my wife. She however, was very encouraging and confident that my performance would definitely allow me bring home the Best Actor Award. This is why I'm dedicating this trophy to you, Suzanne and also to my mother who has been a great source of support in my life."

He also thanked director, Ashutosh Gowarikar for being supportive and believing in his potential. "Since the first day of my shoot, he treated me like his son, a friend and a brother. He managed to convince me that the role of Akbar was meant for me." For Hrithik, the experience of working with the Jodhaa Akbar team was the best he has had so far. "I have never worked in such co-ordination. The experience was extremely enjoyable," he concluded.

Which Bollywood stars would you like to work with?
I am very impressed with Anil. I would love to work with Anil again. I like your dancer Hrithik Roshan. I think he is extraordinary. I had never seen anybody dance like that since I saw Michael Jackson. Aamir Khan as well, wonderful filmmaker.

Bandos Maldives welcomes Bollywood for 'Kites' shoot

A report and pictures of Hrithik and Barbara in Maldives for the shooting of Kites

The crew also includes director Anurag Basu and Hrithik Roshan's sister Suneina. Some scenes were shot near Sundowners bar and Water Sports centre. A Romantic scene was shot in the lush green area on the island and a song was shot on a boat called Sultans of Blues which was anchored on the west of Bandos.

Sussanne on the First Ladies

Business of Cinema has excerpts from Sussanne's appearance on The First Ladies show which will be aired on Saturday, January 17 at 10.00 pm on NDTV Good Times. Repeat telecast is on January 18, at 1.00 pm.

On being married to the hottest man in the country...
Suzanne Roshan says "It's really fun to know that the man that I fell in love with has become the hottest man in the country and it's like this great relationship that we share even though we have been married a long time (9 years)"

On differences between the Khan household and the Roshan household (She is the daughter of Sanjay Khan and Zarine Khan)
Suzanne says, "In my family, everyone is opinionated and completely forthright in what we feel. In Hrithik's family, everyone has an opinion but nobody really likes to voice it. That's the basic difference. In my family, we all are very hot blooded and vocal with our views and Hrithik's family has always been very subtle".

Khosla says that after watching Dhoom 2, he felt that Hrithik could be the next James Bond and here's what Suzanne has to say about that - "I have been watching James Bond movies since forever, and I have always told him that one day you should play James Bond. But Hrithik always says that he can never be a James Bond because James Bond is British!"

On her first encounter with Hrithik
Suzanne Roshan fondly recalls, "We were both at a traffic signal, in our cars. And we both, looked at each other...I recognized him and he knew who I was and that instant something happened. I don't know what, but we both pretended like we didn't notice each other. Then as we drove on, I was looking at him in the rearview mirror. And when his car passed me, he told me he was doing the same."

On their relationship… over years of being together and keeping their romance alive...
Suzanne said, "The relationship that we share is from friendship to being husband and wife. But being husband and wife, we never really took that as an obligation. It was all about being boyfriend and girlfriend."

On whether she is Hrithik's biggest critic...
Suzanne says, "When I first met him, I wasn't. I was really sugar coated in what I wanted to tell him, because I think I didn't share the kind of relationship that I share with him today. I was scared to hurt him and I was never completely honest. Now, I can be blatantly, brutally honest with him about anything and everything."

And here's Suzanne's take on scandals and rumors...
"The scandals are fun! They have to be there. That's what is exciting; they are a part of living. You can't live a boring life where nobody talks about you."

No one can match Hrithik in dancing

Isha Sharvani thinks no one can match Hritihik when it comes to dancing.

Isha waltzed with the actor in Parle's Hide and Seek biscuit ad and she once again teams up with the actor in the forthcoming film 'Luck By Chance'. "It was such an amazing experience to perform with Hrithik again. He's such a great performer. I remember, for the 'Hide and Seek' ad, our practice session lasted for three days and one should see him practise. No one can match his steps. He is so full of energy and is so much fun to work with," Isha told us over phone from Mumbai.

Kites shooting moves to Maldives

Hrithik and Barbara Mori have flown to Maldives to shoot a romantic number. Meanwhile, Mumbai Mirror reports that Hrithik has picked up Spanish during the making of Kites.

"Yes… We all are heading to Maldives as we have to shoot a romantic underwater song there. We thought that a Maldives beach will be a superb location for such a song which will show intense passion and love between Hrithik and Barbara and apart from this song we are also going to shoot a few underwater romantic scenes. The shoot is just for 4 days, we were supposed to shoot this sequence in February but we pulled the schedule forward it due to some technical reasons. After this shoot there will be only few scenes which will be done in Mumbai studios," says director Anurag Basu.

Hrithik talks about his birthday gift from Hrehaan and dad Rakesh.

The most precious birthday gift that Hrithik got this year is a hand-made card by his 3 –year old son Hrehaan. "It was the sweetest thing, and absolutely my most precious gift. Unfortunately Hrehaan couldn't be with us at the party. It was way past his bedtime. Way past mine too. In fact we all danced till 6 am. It was impossible to just rub my eyes and leave for the shoot. So Dad postponed the shooting from morning to the afternoon shoot. My birthday gift from him, " Hirthik yawns as he dances to Farah Khan's steps on his birthday.

    Hrithik spent birthday shooting Kites

    Happy belated birthday to Hrithik who turned 35 yesterday sorry I forgot! :-) Hrithik spent his birthday shooting a dance number for Kites with co-star Barbara Mori who is now in Mumbai to shoot the rest of the movie. Check out the first stills from Kites.

    Hrithik Roshan, who turned 35 Saturday, celebrated the occasion doing what he likes best: dancing - that too with Barbara Mori for a number choreographed by old friend Farah Khan. Sighed Hrithik, 'What more can I wish for? This birthday I can only wish for my wife Sussanne to be with me all my life. What else? I have everything else.

    'So I don't need any other gifts except lots of love from everyone. The audience and fans have showered me with much more love than I deserve. A warm hug means more to me than anything that money can buy. I know my phone is going to be very busy on my birthday. That's the most special thing that happens on this day every year.'

    Hrithik also talked a little bit about the kissing scene in Kites

    'Why are we even talking about kissing? Is that such a big deal? Hasn't our cinema grown up? Yes, there're kissing scenes in the film. But nothing to make me squirm. In fact, I'd be more than happy and completely comfortable watching those kissing scenes with my wife, son and parents when the film is released.'

    On the need to look at lip-locking in Bollywood rationally Hrithik argues, ''Kites' is a love story. It's about people in love. And what do people in love do to express their mutual feelings? In fact, it was Barbara Mori who made me realise how silly we look on screen while shying away from expressing love naturally.'

    This happened while Hrithik and Barbara were shooting a tough and dangerous action sequence in Santa Fe. 'We were both supposed to jump off from a rooftop at an impossible height. Before we did so our director Anurag Basu suggested I kiss Barbara since we were doing something death-defying and dangerous and potentially lethal.

    'I reached out and kissed her on the cheeks. Barbara turned around to ask why I had kissed her on the cheek. 'Given the same situation with your real-life wife Sussanne, would you kiss her on the cheek?' 'I was floored by her logic.' The take was repeated. 'And this time I kissed her the way real-life couples would in the situation - on the lips,' says Hrithik with matter-of-fact directness.

    Hrithik talks about his two different dance numbers for Kites and Luck By Chance

    Talking of dancing, he is pleased about a much-talked-about number he performed for Zoya Akhtar's Luck By Chance. "I've done western dance numbers in all my recent films. I needed a chance to dance in our desi folk style. I got that chance in Luck By Chance," Hrithik said, sharing his look in the film written and directed by Zoya, which is presented by Excel Entertainment and Big Pictures and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar. "Look out for Farhan, he's a great actor as well," Hrithik said. Farhan's lead actress in Luck By Chance is Konkona Sen Sharma. Hrithik himself has a glorified special appearance of 20 minutes in the film but is said to have put in an outstanding performance in the number Baawre.

    For Kites, he did a very international dance number with a New York choreographer that is underground-meets-hip-hop-meets-Californian-bad boy kind of rhythm. "I still remember struggling to get Farah Khan's steps right in my first film Kaho Na...Pyar Hai. The last time we worked together was in Krissh," Hrithik recalled.
