Hrithik's tips for Drona
September 25, 2008
Hrithik has played advisor to Goldie Behl in the making of Abhishek-starrer Drona.
Goldie Behl sure seems to have a trusted set of friends. After Abhishek, we hear that Hrithik Roshan has played advisor to Behl in the making of Abhishek-starrer Drona. Hrithik has even given 'valuable' suggestions on the marketing and promotion of the film. Apparently, both Abhishek and Goldie narrated the story to Hrithik who then suggested some changes in the script. Though Drona is not a superhero film like Krrish, it has loads of action and elements that Hrithik could help with.
Sources even say that it was actually Hrithik who came up with the idea that the film should be an Indiana Jones kind of an adventure film. Apart from this, Hrithik also recommended the locales for the film. When asked, Goldie confirmed that he had discussed the film with Hrithik. Goldie said, "We all go a long way as we have grown up together. We often discuss each other's films and advise each other."

Kites' schedule extended
September 9, 2008
The shooting of Kites in the US has been extended to October.
A source close to Hrithik Roshan reveals, "The first schedule has been extended up to October. The whole cast and crew is stationed in New Mexico where Hrithik and Barbara Mori are going to shoot a special song. For it the whole crew was waiting for the perfect atmosphere. This time the Roshans will be not attending the Ganpati festival as well because of this which takes place at Sanjay Khan's house."
Further, the source says, "We want to complete the first schedule because the Roshans are planning to release the film by May 2009. If we shoot the major portions of the film in Mexico the second schedule will start in the last week of November-December so let's see."
The fast schedule of Kites is a primary concern as Barbara Mori will be busy later on with her other international projects. In the film she plays the love interest of Hrithik Roshan. Hrithik is a casanova who tries wow both Kangana Ranaut and Barbara Mori. The film budgeted at 60 crores.
Sunil Subramani talks Kites
September 9, 2008
Assistant Director, Sunil Subramani talks about Kites in a recent interview.
Hi Sunil, how are you? How is Kites progressing?
I am fine. Thank you. We are very pleased with the way the Kites is progressing. Its going to be a block buster for the theme is so fresh and entertaining. It will steal the hearts of the youth in India and across the globe.
Is Kites your first project in the US? How is it working in the US?
Yes. I haven't visited US before. It is very exciting to work in the US, its so different working in the US compared to working in India. We have a very friendly Indian community in Santa Fe. Last Sunday our Kites unit played cricket with Indian cricket team in Santa Fe. Of course we lost both matches but it was lot of fun. There are some hardcore cricketers out here.
What is your role as an assistant director in Kites?
Script continuity, work with camera man and art director on setting frames, work with writer on dialogues on the set, check costume continuity during a scene, semifinal editing (work with editor), Post production (work with sound, music and songs with sound manager), closely follow the whole production process. I had to work a lot to develop that kind of approach."

Hrithik's singing session
September 4, 2008
Songstress Suzie Q talks about training Hrithik for the Spanish song he is singing with her in Kites.
Looks like Hrithik Roshan is making fans out of not only normal janta but also people he works with! After he left his co-star Mexican beauty Barbara Mori rather impressed, he has another fan — songstress Suzie Q. Oh, and the girl whose latest hit was Jee Karda from Singh is Kinng , has become a fan of his singing! Suzie was originally called to vocally train Hrithik for the Spanish song he is singing with her in Anurag Basu's Kites , which the director wanted the actor to sing himself.
In Suzie's words, "It was a challenge for Hrithik to have to sing an English song. And the great thing is that normally someone else would have started with a pop song but Hrithik started with Jazz standards like Michael Bublé." And what helped Hrithik was the accent training that he has been going through for the movie and the fact that his English is not Indianised but Anglacised. "We did quite a few sessions and Hrithik has a range of three octaves which not many can boast of. He has a great voice and if he works hard, he can put a lot of singers to shame," coos Suzie. Oh, by the way, we hear Hrithik is also as impressed with Suzie's singing as she is of his. He asked her "How do you sing so beautifully and effortlessly? Does that high note you sing even exist on the keyboard?" Mutual admiration society, eh?
Interview with Kangana Raut
September 4, 2008
In a recent interview, Kangana Ranaut talks about her meeting with Rakesh Roshan to talk about Kites.
He said 'you are doing my film'. That's the kind of rapport I have with Anurag. He never narrates the script to me. How can you refuse someone who has launched you and taught you acting, anyways? No complaints, 'Metro' worked out well. Same with 'Kite'. I knew that Anurag was directing 'Kite' with Hrithik Roshan. One fine day he just called me and said you're doing the film. Of course Rakesh Roshan has a different style of working so he narrated the script. And I was super excited when I heard that I was doing my first film with Hrithik Roshan. I'm telling you, the drive from my place to Rakesh Roshan's office was indescribable. I had butterflies in my stomach. I couldn't believe I was doing a film with Hrithik," she says with glee.
