Hrithik's own blog
January 31, 2008
Hrithik is considering creating his own blog.
Dreamboat Hrithik Roshan is very keen to connect to his fans in a 'direct' manner'. He says, "I do want to know and listen to the views of my fans. What do they think about my acting, how do they want me to look etc? I want to know all of that. A blog is a great idea and I am toying about starting one of own for sometime now. Soon enough, I should have a blog ready."
I never like my own work: Hrithik Roshan
January 31, 2008
Another interview with Hrithik where he talks about Jodhaa Akbar.
One is always full of anxiety and curiosity, mostly about how people will receive it. It's one of the most radical departures from what is expected of me. So it would be really interesting to see if I have risen to that challenge and have succeeded in fulfilling that expectation. Full interview
Will Hrithik team up with Channel V anchor in Basu's film?
January 31, 2008
The search for Hrithik's leading lady for his next filmcontinues, Hrithik said he would love to work with Anil Kapoor's daughter, Sonam but not on this project.
"It'll be a Spanish speaking girl. We want to show love has no barriers," added Rakesh Roshan who is producing the yet-untitled thriller. Several names have been put forward. Apparently, Rakesh Roshan, who is very close to Anil Kapoor and quite fond of Anil's daughter Sonam, wanted to cast her. Sonam, conscious of her conservative image, begged off because the role requires the girl to get seriously sexy with Hrithik.
"I'd love to work with Sonam, but not on this project. The role doesn't do justice to her. We're looking at someone from abroad, someone Latin American or Brazilian. So, yeah, in that sense this would be my first international project," said Hrithik. Basu confirms that the role is quite bold. "We've looked at many names, known and new in Bollywood. But that 'it' factor eludes us. I'm getting quite jittery. The girl's role is extremely bold. Actually, we've decided to cast someone international, preferably Brazilian, because that's the personality and profile of the leading lady in my film."

My Akbar, my Jodhaa
January 29, 2008
Ashutosh talks about his Akbar and Jodhaa.
Ask him what impressed him about Hrithik and Ashutosh says, "Playing Akbar requires immense detailing. A certain responsibility came with it. Hrithik's ability to analyse and understand the emotion of the character in each situation and translate it on screen is tremendous." Quiz Ashutosh, who had messaged Aishwarya saying, "Will you be my Jodhaa?" what made him confident about his queen and he says, "She is naturally regal apart from being a good actor. Her persona is that of a quintessential princess." And what did he find most beautiful about her? He points out, "Her compassion makes her beautiful. In times of stress she puts in her two words. That's comforting."
About the pair's much discussed chemistry, Ashutosh says, "Their give and take, action and reaction blends so well. They share a beautiful chemistry. The ability to see a couple on screen and believe that they are in love can come across only through their performances. Hrithik and Aishwarya never had to work on it."
Shah Rukh is graciousness personified: Hrithik Roshan
January 28, 2008
Hrithik talks about SRK and his item number in Krazzy 4.
Shah Rukh Khan is currently shooting for an item song for Rakesh Roshan's 'Krazzy 4' and Hrithik Roshan, who would feature in another version of the same number, says this proves that there is solidarity in Bollywood. "While I'm doing this for my home production, Shah Rukh is going out of his way for us. It just shows how much solidarity actually exists in the industry," Hrithik said. "Shah Rukh's version of the track would be a part of the film, my version would be used only for promotional purposes," Hrithik said.
Hrithik, whose period romance 'Jodhaa Akbar' is set to release on February 15, cannot stop waxing about King Khan's gesture. "Shah Rukh, whose association with my dad's banner goes back a long way to 'King Uncle' and 'Koyla', is being the portrait of graciousness," the 'Jodhaa-Akbar' star said. "In mid-February, when my knee is fully healed and I get back to doing what I am best at - action and dancing - I'll be performing the same item song as Shah Rukh (is doing) for my dad's production," he said.
But why the double delight? Won't the fact that Shah Rukh and Hrithik are dancing to the same tune invite unnecessary comparisons between the two? But Hrithik is sure such comparisons can be avoided. "Though we are dancing to the same song composed by my uncle (Rajesh Roshan) and to the same choreographer Ahmed Khan's instructions, we'll bring our own body language and style into it. Besides, Shah Rukh doesn't need to dance. I do." Sounding upbeat about his career's first item song, Hrithik said: "It's composed by my uncle and sung by Vishal (of Vishal-Shekhar). And it's the best dance track I've ever heard. I'm sure both Shah Rukh and I are going to have huge fun performing this item song."

Item songs in Krazzy 4
January 28, 2008
Vishal Dadlani talks about the item songs for SRK and Hrithik in Krazzy 4.
Confirms Vishal Dadlani (of Vishal-Shekhar fame), who is fast becoming one of the preferred singers in Bollywood, "The track has been composed in two versions with one each reserved for Shah Rukh and Hrithik. I have sung both the versions." While one version of the song would be appearing within the film, another would appear as a part of end credits roll. Adds Vishal, "The song is a mix of hip-hop and rock and should do really well with the younger generation."

Interview with Ashutosh
January 24, 2008
Ashutosh talks about casting Hrithik and Ash in Jodhaa Akbar.
Two names that immediately came to my mind on hearing the story were that of Hrithik and Aishwarya. At that point of time, it was just a wish-list, but I was fortunate that I landed up getting my wish-list to say yes to the film. I think I am fortunate to have two big stars, who have a face value that could make the project much more attractive, and hence got me little more money to spend, though the bottomline is the story you are telling. They were also my first choices because they are superb actors and their physical attributes lend themselves very well to the looks of a comic book emperor and a princess. My images of Akbar and Jodhaa are from the Amar Chitra Katha and like those portrayals - Hrithik is physically very strong and has princely looks, while Aishwarya is the quintessential princess. Hrithik and Aishwarya: No second kiss
January 23, 2008
Hrithik talks about working with Ash.
"There's lots of chemistry between Aishwarya and me, some of the most romantic scenes I've ever seen on celluloid but no, there's no kiss," Hrithik Roshan reveals. The superhero was referring to his next release, Jodhaa Akbar, which was expected to open this week but has now been put back to mid February. What about rumours that the Roshan-Rai sweet vibes had gone sour? "Aishwarya is my most favourite co-star ever. She's completely selfless and gives her all to a film. She gave us tremendous support and is so sensitive to the concerns of her co-stars," Roshan diplomatically stated.
We are victims: Hrithik
January 23, 2008
Hrithik wants to see a lead story on Kajol in the newspaper as he plays the role of guest editor for a day for TOI. Update: Sonia has posted links to photos and more stories of Hrithik's role as an editor of TOI.
"We are all victims of being fascinated by ourselves – wanting to know if we deserve to be in the paper or not," he wryly commented at the start. The guest editor ran through the pages, discussing story ideas, making recommendations. He would like to see a lead story on Kajol, she was a married actress making a comeback, and he knew the audience and industry had little support or sympathy for married actresses. It was different for actors. "When you see Shah Rukh Khan romancing Kajol in Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge , you don't remember he is married to Gauri. It should work the same way for the female lead," observed Hrithik.
Hrithik unplugged
January 23, 2008
TOI's quick Q&A session with Hrithik.
Dhoom 2 , Krrish or Jodhaa Akbar , which film is closest to your heart?
Jodhaa Akbar, of course, it's just about to release!
Your favourite female co-star
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
And male co-star
Abhishek Bachchan
One role you'd love to do
That's a tough question, there are so many! If you look at Leonardo DiCaprio's film trajectory, the kind of different roles he's played is quite interesting. I'd like to do something like that.
On a scale of 1-10, rate yourself on sex appeal
Four. But I'm working on it, the next time I come here, my rating will be higher!
A quality in Sussane you simply adore
Her simplicity
What do you consider to be your biggest strength?
My family
And your biggest weakness?
My family
Your idea of partying is...
I need a reason to rejoice, to celebrate. But when I party, I party hard!
One thing the world doesn't know about Hrithik Roshan...
I've got a very bad memory, I can't remember people's names and faces!

'I am hoping for a baby girl now'
January 21, 2008
Hrithik looks forward to fatherhood for the second time and he wants a girl this time.
Everybody knows that Hrithik Roshan and his wife Sussanne are expecting their second child in May. But he's as excited about baby No 2 as he was about first-born Hrehaan. "I don't want to say much about this. But yes, we're both excited. I thought my excitement level would be lower the second time around. But it's just as high." Would Hrithik like his second child to be a baby brother for Hrehaan? "No," says Hrithik firmly. "I want a girl this time."
The Dhoom star is presently in Goa shooting for a biscuit ad to be directed by Navdeep Singh (Manorama Six Feet Under) with model Gunjan Bakshi.
The actor, who is recuperating from a knee injury says, "I'm aware ads expect me to put on my dancing shoes. I can't say I've consciously avoided dancing for this one. But yes, I did feel the dancing bit in the ads was becoming tedious." The actor adds, "I am in Goa staring at the beach leading into a stretch of the bluest sea I've ever seen. And all I want to do is see water lapping on my feet and face. But I can't do that thanks to my knee. I've to behave myself if I want to do what I love doing the most, namely action and dance." Hrithik doesn't do much dancing in his next release Jodhaa-Akbar. And that isn't because he injured his knee during the shooting. "I didn't get injured during Jodhaa-Akbar. My knee had been suffering for a long time. I just let it be till it could take no more."

Bollywood star to open acting school in Durbs
January 20, 2008
Veteran actor, Anupam Kher is set to open an acting school in Dubai and London, Hrithik talks about the actor in this article
Hrithik Roshan says Kher's acting workshop was the most definitive and cathartic experience of his life. "It was like a doorway — from the hesitant and shaky to the realm of conviction and confidence. It was the most assuring experience at a time when one felt lost in a crowd. I will forever be thankful for the opportunity to have been taught by a talent as great as he," he said.

Dabboo Ratnani's 2008 Calendar
January 15, 2008
Here's a sneek peek into Dabboo Ratnani's 2008 Calendar, check out Hrithik's photo hubba! hubba!
Dabboo-Speak: We used his shoulder, the blades of his shoulders and shoulder balls where he is on the ground, his head is closed. It's an unusual angle for Hrithik. We've never done this before and the whole cracked look in the fore ground and the whole make up was very gold. It's a January page so when you open, it's like a warm nice picture and it hits you in Jan.
What-We-Feel: Chiseled in Gold, this emblem of perfection shocks you with sheer intensity and handsomeness. Laidback seductive eyes are smouldering with ambition and intensity. This one's a precious metal…And maybe you can't fix a price on extra special entities. Isn't it?

Don't be too surprised if you see actor Hrithik Roshan with a sword on the streets because that's a gift he's walked away with on Friday night. Actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Hritik Roshan unveiled the twin cover edition of a popular film magazine Jodhaa Akbar in Mumbai and instead of doing the usual goody two shoes act on stage, Hrithik decided to indulge in some leg pulling. He might be a shy guy, but once the clothes are off and you see the reaction, the guy can give Brad Pitt a complex. The cover in question puts to rest rumors about a tiff between the actors on the sets of the film.
"This katti batti (fighting) is not something we do. We are grown ups and these things are not conducive to working," said Hrithik. And while the stars cleared the air, director Ashutosh Gowarikar looked on, clearly not complaining about the publicity his film is getting. "Jodhaa is a princess, a girl who when in circumstances beyond anyone's control, has the ability to make a choice," said Gowarikar. "I've lived the lifetime as Jodhaa throughout the making of the film. I'm really glad about this experience and we as a team will treasure it forever," said Aishwarya.
Hrithik regrets rejecting Gowariker
January 13, 2008
Sunita Gowariker talks about Hrithik's regret for not doing Swades.
"Yes, it's true that Hrithik was offered Swades which he chose not to do as he couldn't see himself playing Mohan Bhargav. He found it difficult to associate himself with the character he was to portray. However, when the film got made, we showed it to him and he expressed his regrets for not doing the film. He thought he had made a mistake. But that's past. As far as Jodhaa Akbar is concerned, Ashu and Hrithik have no issues against each other. In fact in the course of the film's shoot, Hrithik hurt his knee, Ashu his back and me my pocket! I have spent a lot on this film", joked Sunita.

January 13, 2008
Hrithik talks about his birthday.
"I pretend it's not a special day. But it never turns out that way," laughed Hrithik Roshan on his 34th birthday on 10 January. Quietly, or so he would like to believe, Hrithik turned a year older on Thursday. The email and the SMS began to go broadly ballistic from midnight on D Day…or shall we say 'H' day? Apparently Hrithik gets the maximum birthday greetings in Bollywood. ,"I wouldn't know. But yes the quantity of love that I receive on this day is overwhelming," laughs Hrithik shyly.
The Jodhaa-Akbar star, just recovered from a serious knee injury, was up and about from early in the morning. "I wanted to make sure I answered each one of the greetings personally before Hrehaan gets up."The last year I've really had no time for the family. The injury has given me a chance to be at home and spend time with my wife and son. But I need to be very careful for a while. No serious stunts and action scenes for while. My body has served its warning rather effectively.I had no choice but to obey the warning signals. It would be some time before I get back into full-on action scenes."
And how was the birthday celebrated this year? "Every year I like to do something associated with my work on my birthday. As luck would have it on the evening before my birthday it was the launch of my Jodhaa-Akbar music. I loved that. It was one of the most well-organized music functions of my career. After that it was a friend Ambika Hinduja's engagement party. So we went for that. Then we were home for the rest of the evening." So where was was the cake and the rest of the birthday trappings? 'Oh, all that happened. Sussanne always makes sure my birthdays are special."

No more period flicks
January 10, 2008
At the launch of Jodhaa Akbar music, Hrithik said that he had turned down the role of Gautam Buddha in Shyam Benegal's upcoming film.
"With all due respect to the Buddha and Shyam-babu, I am not keen on doing more period or mythological films," says Hrithik. "For me, playing the legendary Emperor Akbar in a film helmed by Ashutosh Gowariker is itself a drastic deviation from my previous movies like 'Krrish' or 'Dhoom-2'. I have always tried not to get typecast in any particular image. All of us from the 'Jodhaa Akbar' cast and crew including Aishwarya Rai, Poonam Sinha and Sonu Sood have worked very hard on the film. It's an uncanny coincidence that the amazing musical score by A R Rehman is being released on the eve of my birthday (January 10) - it's almost like a birthday gift for me. And the movie itself is releasing on February 15, which is Gowariker's birthday." Poonam Sinha, who plays Hrithik's on-screen mother (Hamida Banu Begum) said that she shared a warm rapport with both 'Duggu' (Hrithik) and Aishwarya Rai. "Although both are such big stars, they were so modest and made feel at home," she said.

IBN has a clip about Hrithik's birthday and his comments from the Jodhaa Akbar music launch, download here
It is Hrithik Roshan's birthday today. The year for the actor who turned 34 started on a busy note. However, it looks like the Roshan family will only have a quiet, personal celebration."Suzanne is planning something for me, she always does. So I will wait for it should be fun," says Hrithik. It is not just on his birthday but the superstar has been cooling his heels for a while, first in Australia and now here. And all that to recover from his many shoot injuries.
"Sometimes we end up feeling we are heroes, you know we cant feel any pain, mard ko dard nahi hota but pain hurts!" says Hrithik.
But we guess the pain's worth it when you get paid as much as Rs 15 crores for a film, as that is what he is supposed to have charged for Jodha Akbar, was it true? "Badhega yaar, picture chal gayi to (It will increase if the film does well)," says Hrithik. With Krish 2, papa Rakesh Roshan's next with Sonam Kapoor and a film planned with carving dreams production, the multi crore price tag doesn't seem to bother filmmakers, then again, a lot might change if Hrithik's Akbar act doesn't work the magic in theaters.
Hrithik on Akbar Jodha
January 10, 2008
Hrithik talks about Jodhaa Akbar and how he celebrates his birthday.
The SMSes began at midnight. Apparently he gets the maximum greetings in Bollywood. "I wouldn't know, but yes, the love that I receive on this day is overwhelming," admitted Hrithik. The Jodhaa-Akbar star was up and about early. "I wanted to answer each greeting personally before Hrehaan got up," he said. But that did not happen. He was up as well and Hrithik was happy to give him all the attention. "Last year I had no time for the family. But my knee injury gave me a chance to be at home," he said. He needs to be careful currently. "No serious stunts and action scenes for a while. My body has served a warning. We sometimes tend to forget that we are also human and not superheroes we play on screen."
Though the charm of the golden era of Akbar is irresistible, Hrithik would never have wanted to be born as a royal back then. "Are you crazy? That armour those guys wore is enough to make that decision. I wouldn't want to move around in that. I'm happy to have been born as me, Hrithik Roshan." He celebrates his birthday by doing something associated with his work. "The night before was the launch of Jodhaa Akbar's music. After that I went for my friend Ambika Hinduja's engagement. Then I was home. Cake and the rest happened. Sussanne makes my birthdays special." And what did the birthday 'dad' wish for considering he's dedicated this year to his family and son in particular? "Peace and happiness always!" he said.

Happy Birthday Hrithik
January 10, 2008
Hey it's Hrithik's birthday today, Happy Birthday Duggu!
Hrithik Roshan turns 34 today and the actor and his family is having a havan and a puja this morning at his Juhu residence. Sources close to the actor reveal that the puja will be followed by a family lunch. The Jodhaa Akbar actor, who is still recuperating from his knee injury, is in no mood for lavish bashes. Sister Suniana, when contacted yesterday evening said, "I'm still not sure about Hrithik's plans for the day. But we are having a havan and a little puja at home for him. He has been extremely busy reading his scripts and other work. We are not having any big celebrations this year."
He is tremendously busy planning the publicity and events leading to the release of Jodhaa Akbar on February 15. He is also having script narrations at his residence, as he wants to sign his next film. Sources indicate that Hrithik, wife Sussanne and baby Hrehaan will settle for a quiet dinner at one of the posh suburban restaurants. They are likely to be joined by Sussanne's parents Sanjay and Zarine, and siblings Simone, Farah and Zayed.
Hindustan times has a a nice article about Hrithik.

"We have to keep references as realistic. Like for light, in the day we had daylight and at night, torches. So we were limited by those factors there. Yet we still kept the dramatisation intact, within the realistic prism," says Kiran.
So what does he have to tell about co-stars of the film, Aishwarya Rai and Hrithik Roshan? "They both are such good looking people, that we had to maintain their beauty throughout the film and yet, keep them in character," Kiran says.

Bollywood movie star Hrithik Roshan says he deliberately chooses difficult roles such as the Mongol emperor in the new historical romance "Jodha Akbar" because they challenge him to excel as an actor. "I really want to do films that scare me so much that I won't be able to afford it if they don't fare well," Roshan said in an interview in the latest issue of Cine Blitz magazine on Wednesday. "It is only when it seems to threaten the value of my job would I be consciously giving it my best," he said. But Roshan said what he loathed most playing Akbar was wearing a lot of heavy jewelry and armor. He said it was awkward to wear earrings and chunky necklaces that were needed to reflect the royalty of the 16th century. "How will you fight when you cannot even stand up? What if you fall with all that weight on you?'' he asked.
We need a new face with Hrithik: Anurag Basu

Anurag Basu, who is directing Hrithik in a new action-romance film, wants a brand new leading lady. Hrithik's uncle Rajesh Roshan will do the score for the movie. Happy New Year everyone!
'The theme is such that we need a fresh girl. We are searching for her. If we don't find the perfect debutante, only then we may consider an established face,' Basu, who will present Hrithik in a never-before avatar in the movie produced by the actor's father, told IANS.Basu earlier discovered Kangana Ranaut for 'Gangster - A Love Story', which was a turning point in his career. 'Yes,' laughed Basu. 'But every day isn't a Sunday. And we may not get that lucky this time. However, I'm extremely happy to be working with Hrithik who apparently saw 'Metro' and liked it.
'Hrithik and his father are non-interfering people. An added bonus for doing this yet-untitled film is that Hrithik's uncle Rajesh Roshan is setting the score. I have always been his big fan.' 'I need to get back behind the camera. It has been quite a while since 'Life... In A Metro' was released. I am glad it worked. But now, I need to move on,' said Basu, who plans to take the Hrithik-starrer on floors in mid-2008.
