TOI has an interview with Flexy Stu who choreographs the dance sequence for Kites

Could you elaborate on your Kites choreography?
Hrithik and Kangna play Americans of Indian descent. The first dance is with Kangna. It's a competition sequence. Unlike a typical Bollywood number, this one is similar to an American dance competition. The second number is with Barbara Mori. Hrithik, who plays a dance teacher, is doing a duet with both. My wife, Loren, is also choreographing for Kites.

How's Hrithik as a student?
He is one of the best I've had so far and a fast learner. Full interview.

Shooting of Kites stalled
December 22, 2008
Shooting of Hrithik and Kangana's dance sequence for Kites was stopped yesterday when police raid the set, apparently 30 dancers who are foreigners do not have the proper work permit. The shooting resumed three hours later.

An industry insider said, "Rakesh Roshan (producer) and Anurag Basu (director) were taken aback when the film's sets was raided. It was a surprise security check. The raid revealed that 30 foreigners who were dancing in the background did not have a proper work permit. Those dancers were not allowed to continue shooting after the raid."

Did the shooting start again? "Yes, the shooting started but not before 3.30 pm. It took about three hours for Rakesh Roshan's production team to arrange for substitute dancers. This time, they got Indian dancers for the song. Only the foreigners who were dancing close to Hrithik had their work permit papers in place because of which they were not in trouble," said our source. Full report

Hrithik and Kangana rehearsing for Kites
December 22, 2008
Hrithik and his Kites co-star Kangana Ranaut have been rehearsing for a song for Kites for almost a week at the YRF Studios. According to reports, Rakesh Roshan has specially flown in choreographer, Flexi from the US to train them for the high energy number, which has salsa and hip hop.

A source close to the production house said, "Kangana is a great dancer but given Hrithik's flare for dancing, the grace and perfection with which he performs is unmatched. Each time Kangana watches Hrithik perform, she is left completely awestruck by her co-star, so much so that in the bargain, she forgets her steps."

Kangana confirmed the news and said, "Hrithik is a flawless dancer. No matter how difficult the steps are, the intensity and precision with which he performs is unbelievable. I am so amazed by his dancing skills that often I am too stunned to get on with my own steps."

Kites' Mumbai shooting will go on as planned
December 16, 2008
Hrithik confirms that Barbara Mori was hesitant about coming to Mumbai after the terror attacks but he says that the last schedule of the film in Mumbai will go on as planned. Hrithik also confirms the report on him meeting Michael Jackson.

Hrithik was shooting in Los Angeles for his father's film Kites, when Michael Jackson, who was in the vicinity, decided to drop in and meet him. Hrithik confirms the news. He says, "He happened to be visiting the location where we were shooting and meeting him was a pleasant surprise. We didn't really have much of a conversation. We took some pictures and chatted with him for a bit. He spoke about what little he knows about Hindi movies."

Talking about Kites, the film is scheduled to be shot in Mumbai now. However, there were rumours that the lead actor Barbara Mori was hesitant about coming to the city after the terror attacks. "Yes, Barbara was a little worried. But weren't we all scared? We had to talk to her again." He adds that Barbara was easy to convince though, "as she is too professional not to come at all". So, the last schedule of the film in Mumbai will be as planned earlier. Well, all's well that ends well.

Kites is an intensely romantic film
December 15, 2008
Director Anurag Basu talks to Mumbai Mirror about Kites and how it was working with Hrithik and Barbara Mori.

Woody Allen's Matchpoint is said to have inspired Kites. Is that true?
You can first see the film and then decide. Earlier, people also said Gangster (2006) was inspired by Donnie Brasco (1997). Kites is an intensely romantic film.

How is it working with Hrithik Roshan?
Hrithik and I really enjoyed working together. I always respected him as an actor but now I respect him as a human being too. Hrithik and I made the film honestly, just like we wanted to.

We have heard that there was trouble with Hrithik's knee while shooting, true?
Yes. Before every shot I would be worried about Hrithik's knee. If anything happened to him, then our entire outdoor shooting schedule would've gone for a toss. But Hrithik asked me not to compromise the shots under any circumstance. I'm awed by the way he managed, without ever letting the shoot halt. He even did the few action scenes we have in the film himself. Full interview.

Special screening of Jodhaa Akbar for Dilip Kumar
December 15, 2008
Director Ashutosh Gowariker has organised a special screening of Jodhaa Akbar for Dilip Kumar.

Kumar said "Gowariker was very kind to organize a special screening for me. The movie was a delight. I discovered what a versatile actor Roshan is. The film did remind me of the film Mughal-e-Azam. Only directors like K. Asif and Gowariker, who have the patience, confidence and artistry to events and emotional conflicts with sensitivity, can bring such historicals to life. Roshan and Bachchan played their roles with remarkable maturity and restraint."

Anyone can be sexy: Hrithik Roshan
    December 14, 2008
Priyanka Chopra and Hrithik come out tops in a special poll on the sexiest man and woman alive in India this year. Here's what Hrithik has to say about it.

How does it feel to win a poll of this kind?
First of all, it is not possible to feel sexy at this point of time considering what is happening in the city. But I would say it is a huge compliment and of course, I can't say that I don't enjoy it. It is a motivating factor. These things make you want to go on with what you are doing. I thank all the people who have voted for me in this poll.

Are you comfortable with being called sexy?
Yes, I don't mind being labelled sexy.

What do you think is the sexiest thing about you?
It is terribly 'unsexy' to talk about yourself being sexy…

Who do you think is the sexiest man or woman in the country?
That's not something that can be limited to a particular person. I think anyone can be sexy, it all depends on one's confidence levels.

    Kaho naa, kaise hua pyaar?
    December 12, 2008
Snippet of Hrithik's appearance on Oye! it's Friday which airs on NDTV Imagine tonight at 8 pm

Farhan : Let's talk a little about your personal life. How did you and Susanne meet? Was it love at first sight or sight at first love?
Hrithik : The story is a bit long, would you be okay with that? I'll make it as short as possible... I was 12 years old and she was about 10 when I saw her from very far... I was with a group of friends. I saw her, then I kept seeing her and my friends started to tease me with the song, Susana.

Cut to my sis' birthday or my parents' anniversary... something like that and in she walked! I was with Uday and I told him, 'Do you see that girl? I am going to marry her someday.'

    Farhan : Wow!
Hrithik : It's a strange thing yaa...I was 18 years then and when I was 21... I am at a signal in my car and her car just comes and stops besides my car.. I look at her... and I realise it's her.

Farhan : It's like a Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai moment? ( laughs)
Hrithik : I saw her and she saw me... this was at Juhu Garden... and we were almost neck to neck...

    Farhan : How romantic!
Hrithik : Actually, I didn't have my glasses on... but I put them on... and tried giving my best profiles... and the rest is history. (smiles)

    When Farhan embarrassed Hrithik
    December 8, 2008
Hrithik will be Farhan's first guest on his new TV show called "Oye... it's Friday" which will premiere on December 12. There will be an insight on his personal life like how he met Susssanne, their recent holiday in Bora Bora, his meeting with Michael Jackson and Farhan has lots of surprises for Hrithik, here's a snippet.

Farhan Akhtar's all set to take over the small screen with his TV show Oye... It's Friday on NDTV Imagine on December 12 at 8 pm. And the first guest to make an appearance on this show is one other than his best buddy Hrithik Roshan. The show has no formal conversations but the Rock On star promises that there's a lot of fun and humour on his show. And Hrithik can vouch for that. While hosting the show, Farhan in his usual playful mood, asked Hrithik about his closeness to his Jodhaa Akbar co-star.

Hrithik turned red with embarrassment but Farhan continued teasing him. Finally when he saw that his buddy was a little uncomfortable in his seat, he laughed and said, "I was talking about your co-star the elephant with whom you spent so much time together." That was enough for the two and the audience to burst out laughing.

Ash looking forward to working with Hrithik
    December 2, 2008
Aishwarya Rai is excited and looking forward to working with Hrithik in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's new film

"We have been paired in two films which were completely different from each other in terms of genre and setting. Both the films thankfully went on to do very good business and so we are obviously very excited as colleagues that we are coming together on screen for such a magnificent director (Sanjay Leela Bhansali)."

"We are thankful to the people who have gone and seen our films which means they had accepted us as co-stars on screen and made both the films that we had been paired earlier good hits. We are really looking forward to doing this film. Hrithik and me we have shared a good rapport and it is great that we will do something very different with Sanjay."

Ash also admits that she couldn't have got a better co-star than Hrithik… "When people have accepted our films that means they have accepted us as co-stars too. That means they like to see us. Hrithik has been a great colleague to work with. From Dhoom:2 to Jodhaa Akbar it has been wonderful to work with him. We are looking forward to give something good to the audiences this time too," she ends.
