The families that have changed the face of Bollywood
September 26, 2007
The Roshans is one of the families that have changed the face of Bollywood according to Indiafm.

Hrithik started off as his father's assistant reading out dialogue sheets to artistes in Karan Arjun and Koyla. At the turn of the century, he debuted as the hero of Kaho Naa.. Pyaar Hai. Since then, he's considered an A-list actor. He acquires a new skill for nearly every film of his, like martial arts for Krrish, military stances for Lakshya and the latest dance techniques for Dhoom:2. He has sustained chronic injuries, thanks to his obssession for doing his own stunts in films. He didn't hesitate playing negative characters in Mission Kashmir and Fiza at the beginning of his career. Never to get trapped in an image, this new age actor has now donned the majestic avatar of Akbar for his latest venture, Jodhaa Akbar.

The Roshans are linked to another big film family of Feroz and Sanjay Khan through Hrithik's marriage to Suzzane, the daughter of veteran actor-filmmaker Sanjay Khan. By far, he's the most promising and inventive of the new crop of actors. Incidentally, he inherits the musical talent of his grandfather and he can play any musical instrument by sheer instinct! Hrithik wows his fans at an appearance at a city five-star hotel in Kolkata.

Without further delay, Hrithik was all set to serve and volley. It's always nice to be back in Kolkata. My grandmother, Ira Roshan, was from here. This city runs in my blood. There's always a deep affection for the city and its people. The right words at the right time what a shot that was. This was, of course, only the beginning. Full report

Hrithik 'last priority' in Attarwala case
September 26, 2007
Mumbai city police has denied that Hrithik has been called for questioning in the Iqbal Attarwal matter as reported in a section of the media

Denying that film actor Hrithik Roshan has been called for questioning in the Iqbal Attarwal matter as reported in a section of the media, the city police said on Wednesday film stars are the 'last priority' in the case. "No communication has been sent to Hrithik Roshan or any other actor for questioning. Filmstars are our last priority," Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Rakesh Maria said

Maria said the names of stars who can be called for questioning is 'anybody's guess' after going through the video tapes but confirmed that Hrithik was in negotiations to perform in one of the shows. Hrithik was negotiating with one of the two intermediary event management companies that arranged for the stars for the shows, but did not perform as they had some differences over the price, he added.

Memoirs of Another Day

Geety Sahgal talks about Hrithik and other stars she had met

One makeover which is truly remarkable! When I first set eyes on Hrithik Roshan he was assisting dad Rakesh Roshan on the sets of King Uncle and Karobar. Polite and soft- spoken he was moving around with a clapper- board in his hand, calling the stars on the sets, and not even hesitating to sweep the floor when it came to it. Lean and lanky, it was impossible to imagine him as the Greek God that he looks now. What did stand out in the boy was his sincerity, and unaffected manner. The star in Hrithik shone during the promotion of Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai.

Though the physical transformation was mind-boggling, his humility when he happily accepted Salman to be responsible for his bulging body was touchingThe only thing he was a bit finicky about was when it came to which photographs of his should be published. Hrithik was very firm even then that only the best photographs be published. And despite the world drooling over his looks today he still gets very anxious when it comes to his picture and the only reason for which he could get angry with a journalist! Otherwise the superstar is still a delight when it comes to being amicable, in fact he is better than before. Though he needs a bit of prodding when it comes to talking about his personal life, he does open up now and then and has even told me about his first romantic dinner with Suzanne.

Nursing a knee injury, Hrithik will stay put in Mumbai and complete the dubbing for Jodha-Akbar.

The extended shooting schedule of Ashutosh Gowarikar's magnum opus, Jodhaa Akbar has taken a toll on Hrithik Roshan's health. He suffered a knee injury while enacting some battle sequences and has been advised bed rest for three months. The actor, who continues to film lest the film's post-production gets delayed, complained of acute pain recently and moved out of the chalet, which was built for the actor. Hrithik's spokesperson admits that the actor is in pain. "Hrithik has had a problem with his knees. He has been under treatment for a while," he said.

The actor has been shooting for Jodhaa Akbar for almost a year now. His knee injury has only gone worse because the film's exhausting sequences didn't allow him much time to heal his wounds. "Hrithik had braved a spate of knee injuries during the schedule. He was taking medicines but didn't get the much required rest," says another source.

However, for the next few months, the actor is going to stay put in Mumbai and complete the dubbing for the film. He hasn't signed any new projects yet. His spokesperson says, "He has just completed a song sequence for Jodhaa Akbar and is back in the city. He might need to go back to Karjat for some patchwork. He is not working on any other films as of now."

Is Hrithik Roshan entering Hollywood?
September 9, 2007
Hrithik's international spokesperson talks about Hrithik's hollywood offers.

His international spokesperson from US confirms, "Yes, it's true that Hrithik has already been invited by the best, the biggest and the most credible industry professionals. Now all Hrithik has to do is ask, want and desire. I think that's why he can take his time and pick and choose what he likes."

"As a publicist in Hollywood working with major motion picture studios, films and A-list stars, I have never seen an artist so close to perfect. Do I need to add anything more?" says Hrithik's spokesperson confidently.

"The icing on the cake is the fact that West has woken up the powerhouse of talent that Hrithik is after looking at the current crop of films he has done. Whilst Hollywood's most credible trades call him "The Bankable Hrithik Roshan", A-List Agents of the American Cinema consider him to be "the Sun and the Moon by himself", which by itself shows yet again his reach and credibility", she reveals.

"Hrithik is still keeping the standards high and tries to concentrate on the priorities and current projects", she reveals, "Hollywood Executives believe him to be the future of Western films and even though he has not made any attempts to star in a Hollywood film, he still gets offers. Just wait and watch!"

Do we see a space for Hrithik in the top league which currently belongs to a Tom Cruise or a Brad Pitt? Laughs the lady, "Some say, he is the next Tom Cruise, some call him the new Brad Pitt while some compare his class and stature to George Clooney. But Hrithik is all of the above and some more."

Turning serious, she declares, "Hrithik will never get cast where Cruise should or in a role that belongs to Pitt. Hrithik Roshan will star in a vehicle that is designed and produced only for him. Hrithik Roshan will star in a Hrithik Roshan film." Full article

Sonu Sood's Akbarnama
September 3, 2007
Sonu Sood talked about Jodhaa Akbar and working with Gowariker.

"I'm banking on Jodhaa Akbar because it is the kind of film I was waiting for. At the end of it, I can assure you that it was worth the wait. I'm glad I didn't venture out doing other films that I was offered in the interim." "It's unfair to the directors and other actors to name the films. I was offered some Hindi remakes of south Indian movies I've done. There wasn't any novelty there. Today, I can say Jodhaa Akbar is the kind of project that every actor waits for."

"Ashutosh is one director who explains the shot to you in such away that it helps you slip into the character smoothly. He puts you completely at ease while working." "Hrithik and Ash are the two persons I spend most of my time on the sets with, apart from Ashutosh. "I share the same trainer as Hrithik, and we would work out together during the schedule in Jaipur. Ash recalled Abhishek's conversation with her about working in Yuva. We got along very well." Is he in touch with them after wrapping up the shooting? "I do meet Hrithik when he comes for his dubbing and I'm leaving. We chat for a while about the times we spent during filming. I look forward working out with him again."

Jodhaa-Akbar in post production
September 3, 2007
Jodhaa-Akbar is now in post production, the editing and dubbing of the film are being done simultaneously.

"I'm currently editing the film in Mumbai. It's not an easy task," Gowariker told IANS. Considering the canvas of the storytelling, this could well be the director's toughest film yet. "That isn't all. Aishwarya is shooting in Hyderabad. So she'll dub in that city, while Hrithik will dub in Mumbai," Gowariker said. On top of it, there are dozens of other actors, big and small, whose dubbing has to be done under strict supervision to make sure that the Urdu dialogues are in place and the pronunciation is impeccable. In fact Hrithik and Aishwarya have been working doubly hard on their dialogues to live up to the Lagaan director's exacting standards.
