Hrithik to design poster for Jodhaa Akbar
November 17, 2007
Hrithik has decided that he will be involved in the poster designing of Jodhaa Akbar.

He expressed his desire to director Ashutosh Gowarikar that he would love to be present during the poster designing and would like to select the photographs which will make him look like an emperor. "Hrithik is a hard core professional and Ashutosh is very impressed with the fact that he is also taking active part in the post production, knowing that it's not his home production," says our source. Hrithik is very particular about the way he looks in photographs, he feels that photographs creates a major impact of a film, and if it goes wrong then the result is shown when the film is released. From Kaho Na Pyaar Hai days he used to be spending time with his dad Rakesh Roshan and he treats everything professionally. "The kind of knowledge Hrithik has about every department of filmmaking and post production, he can be a filmmaker any day he wants to," says one of the unit members.

Aishwarya and Hrithik shoot a lavish song
November 15, 2007
The shooting of Jodhaa Akbar has concluded with a lavish song titled "Azeem O Shah, Shahenshah".

The shooting of Jodhaa Akbar has concluded with a lavish song. The film, directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar , has taken more time than expected to complete. But its shooting finally got over with the filming of an elaborate song that was shot for about 13 days at Nitin Desai's studios in Karjat. Aishwarya Rai , who returned from the US a few weeks back, had been participating in the shooting of the song along with her co-star Hrithik Roshan . Titled "Azeem O Shah, Shahenshah", the song featured about one thousand dancers in traditional costumes, wielding swords and shields.

Given the enormous scale of the song, the choreographers – Rekha and Chinni Prakash – had a tough task of choreographing and coordinating the dance movements of so many dancers. In the end, the shooting was completed in estimated time without any major hiccups. Reports have it that on the final day of the shoot, Hrithik Roshan met everyone in the film's crew and thanked them. Having worked hard for months on this historical project, the final day turned out to be an emotional experience for many in the crew. In fact, Gowarikar is reported to be planning a farewell party.

Haidar Ali on Jodhaa Akbar
November 15, 2007
An interview with writer-cum-actor Haidar Ali on Jodhaa Akbar

Did you interact with the big stars? How was the experience?
Yes, a song by A R Raman "Sufi Kalam" has been picturised on me. It was shot in Karjat for 10 nights and during the course of the shooting, I interacted with Hrithik Roshan. He is a very dignified, cultured, respectable and down-to-earth person. I didn't interact with Aishwarya because the two of us didn't have any shots together. Our shoots were mainly at Karjat and Jaipur. Full interview

Hrithik may be making his Hollywood debut soon
November 9, 2007
Reports say that Hrithik has been approached for Kafir.

If all goes well then actor Hrithik Roshan may be making his Hollywood debut very soon. The actor is believed to have cracked an exclusive deal with Hollywood agency Brillstein Gray. It is believed that director Stephen Gaghan, writer of films like Abandon and the George Clooney-Matt Damon starrer Syriana, has through Brillstein Gray approached Hrithik for Kafir. According to sources, Gaghan was in Mumbai sometime ago. He was on a location hunt for his film Blink: The Power Of Thinking Without Thinking, which is based on Malcolm Gladwell's book by the same name. It has Leonardo de Caprio in the lead. Gaghan had traveled to Rajasthan and Goa to find an apt location for his film. It was during this visit that Gaghan happened to watch Kaho Na Pyaar Hai and Lakshya. He also saw some portions of Dhoom 2 as well. After that he felt that Hrithik was the right choice to play the lead role in Kafir.

Kafir's scriptwriter Ahsan Hyder has confirmed that Gaghan has approached Hrithik through Brillstein Gray. Hyder met Gaghan through a common friend and they discussed several script ideas. The subject of Kafir, which is based on a global issue, appealed to Gaghan and he expressed his desire to make a film on it. The title is expected to be changed though. It is believed that Rakesh Roshan too has confirmed the fact that Brillstein Gray has been appointed by Hrithik as his official agency for his international projects and also the fact that he has been approached by Stephen Gaghan for a film.

Two songs in JA cut
November 4, 2007
Reports say two songs from the movie have been edited out but could be added in the DVD.

Ashutosh Gowarikar 's Jodhaa Akbar , that stars the gorgeous Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and the dashing Hrithik Roshan in the title roles, went under the knife, again, because the movie is just too long. At present, the new version has two songs edited out, one of which was a qawwali sung by A R Rahman , the music director for the movie. According to a source, every scene in the movie is important, and Gowarikar did not want the flow to suffer. Therefore, the lavishly shot songs had to go.

"It was a very good idea to have a qawwali, as it was a traditional aspect in the lives of kings. It was difficult for Ashutosh, but he also asked for Rahman's take on the decision, and chopped the songs off only when Rahman agreed," the source adds. The songs will be added in the DVD of the movie. Apparently, Ash wanted to use it in one of her upcoming movies, but Gowarikar may not agree. According to the source, the final cut, so far, is three and a half hours. The movie is slated for a January 25 release, and the promos are already on air.
