Hrithik, Ash won't go to Cannes
May 13, 2007
Mumbai Mirror reports that both Hrithik and Ash will not be going to Cannes for the promo of Jodha-Akbar at the festival.

The Jodha Akbar team comprising Aishwarya Rai, Hrithik Roshan and Ashutosh Gowarikar will not be attending the Cannes Film festival this year. Although the team was to attend the film festival to showcase Jodha Akbar's first look the stars have decided not to attend the event as they will be too busy shooting for the film in India. Even Aishwarya, who has regularly been at the film festival for the last four years, will not make it for the grand event.

Both Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya will be completing the film's shoot as director Ashutosh wants to wrap up the film before monsoons ruin the expensive sets that have been erected at Nitin Desai Studios in Karjat. Ashutosh Gowarikar says, "I have no plans as such to attend the promotional campaign of Jodha Akbar. I know that it will help the film, but we need to finish our shoot first. Hrithik and I are not going to attend the festival because we need to wrap up the shoot before monsoons. Ash was supposed to attend the event, but she also will be with us in Karjat. I can't afford to waste a single day."

"Producer Ronnie Screwwala initially thought that Hrithik, Aishwarya and Ashutosh would be able to make it for the event. But the film's shoot has got delayed, and now Ashutosh doesn't want to waste time travelling. They have erected massive sets at Nitin Desai's studio in Karjat and those expensive sets might get ruined during the monsoons. Attending the festival would mean that they would lose at least five valuable days," says our source from the unit.

Hrithik battles an elephant in Jodhaa-Akbar

Ashutosh Gowariker's Jodha Akbar not only has a number of actors on the sets at any given time but also a huge crowd of animals. Over 80 elephants, 100 horses and 55 camels are being used in the movie, and needless to say, it's quite a task managing all of them.Recently, we hear Hrithik Roshan had to film an action sequence where he had to battle a huge elephant. While he managed to pull it off all by his lonesome and without the use of a body double, we do hear he was left with a bunch of bruises for his bravery. We think the offending animal was female. That would explain the oh-so-wild behaviour with Duggu, no?

Good villain hunting
May 7, 2007
Rakesh Roshan confirms that Krrish 3 will have another major leading man besides Hrithik.

"This time the anti-hero will be as powerful as the hero," explains Rakesh Roshan. "Krrish saw the birth of the super-hero. Now we'll see the super-hero combating other forces," he adds. Krrish 3 is being scripted now. "I can't focus on more than one project at a time, Maybe that's my weakness. We're working on the script. The story has to be just right. The plot has to be inspiring. I've to get that gut feeling that the plot is right. The special effects aren't the main thing. The plot is. Until I'm happy with that I won't start Krrish 3. Let's face it, we can't match Spiderman 3 in budget. But if they give ten action scenes, I'll do two with equal finesse. We've to out-do them in content."

Rakesh Roshan agrees that Dhoom 2 and Krrish have worked for Hrithik. "Luckily, he had some success outside our home production. So now people have stopped saying he delivers only with me. Of course, we'll always work together. No director understands him better than me, and he knows it. Our three films together have built a track record for ourselves. I've just seen some photographs of Jodha-Akbar. Hrithik is looking terrific."

At home, grand-son Hrehaan keeps Rakesh Roshan busy. "Nothing gives me more pleasure than watching Hrithik and Hrehaan playing together. And since I've no movie on the floors right now, I've all the time in the world to spend with him. We celebrated Hrehaan's first birthday recently. Seeing all those children in the house he was so surprised and delighted. I could see he was having a good time. Hrehaan is a very pleasant child," he says.

Ask the proud grandfather who Hrehaan resembles, and he replies, "Both his parents…actually more of his mother Susanne. God has been very kind to us." And finally, he returns to talking about his third super-hero film. "If the script doesn't shape up to my satisfaction I'll just wait until it does. Fortunately, I'm in no hurry. I can wait," he says.

Hrithik takes a break from Jodhaa-Akbar shootings

With Aishwarya gone on a honeymoon in some European country, Hrithik Roshan is enjoying a well deserved break and making full use of it. Meanwhile, with the shooting of 'Akbar Jodhaa' temporarily at a standstill, Hrithik seems to be showing keen interest in his home production 'Krazy Four', directed by his dad's assistant Raja Sen, giving him positive inputs. The dad-son duo is also having story sessions for 'Krrish-2'.

DNA has a report on World Cup cricket soiree hosted by SRK.

At the recent World Cup cricket soiree thrown by Shah Rukh Khan at his palatial home Mannat, the bond between the 'Krrish' star and the Khans simply couldn't be missed. Egged on by his news pals SRK and Sallu, Hrithik wowed the guests with his impromptu dance performance. He danced on all the popular 'Dhoom 2' songs, the movie (in particular the kiss between Ash and Hrithik) that has supposedly caused a rift between the Bachchans and him. The two Khans soon joined the dance guru on the floor along with film-maker Karan Johar, who proved just why he was the right choice as choreographer for the Ash-Abhi wedding.

Bollywood leading men
May 1, 2007
Pop Matters talks about Bollywood leading man and has this to say about Hrithik.

Hrithik Roshan, one the most talented leading man of the last ten years, has been in danger of not being taken seriously simply because of his appearance—his green eyes, his lithe six-foot-something frame, his alabaster complexion and his chiseled, Greek sculpture features. He's just too handsome to be true (He's the real life embodiment of what Derek Zoolander deems, "really, really, ridiculously good looking"). His debut film, the masala modern-day mythological revenge saga, Kaaho Na Pyaar Hai (2000, "Say This is Love") stunned audiences with the presence of an actor who possessed the kind of kilowatt glamour rarely seen in most stars. On top of it all, his dancing abilities are the best of any Indian star before him. The Fred Astaire-fluidity of his movements is so deft and graceful that Hrithik Roshan seems like a special effect, a celluloid phantom darting across the screen.
