Another mention on Hrithik's vacation in Italy.

Says a close friend of the actor, "It's been pending for a long time. Duggu has been longing to take Hrehaan and Sussanne to all the locations where he's been shooting, but Hrehaan is too small to travel to so many places. Sussanne had to stay back with him and Hrithik missed both of them a lot." Recently, when Hrithik got permission from Hrehaan's doctor to travel abroad, he decided to take the family to Italy. "He is extremely protective about his son and doesn't want any kind of media attention.

He didn't even get his son for the award ceremony because he is only a year old. However, he has left no stone unturned in planning a super luxurious vacation for his baby," reveals our source. The Roshans will spending a week in the Italian countryside, before returning to Mumbai. Immediately after that, Hrithik will join Ashutosh for the last schedule of Jodha Akbar.

People around Hrithik believe that Hrehaan has brought a change in his fortune, because after a long time, Hrithik has delivered a hit outside his father's banner (Dhoom:2). Then he signed a Rs 35 crore, three-film deal with Adlabs. He has been endorsing a lot of brands and is also planning to have his own world concert soon. "Hrithik is a hard-working guy, but his son has been extremely lucky for him," says the friend.

Ash talks about Jodhaa-Akbar in a recent interview.

Q: Jodha Akbar is your next release. Not much has been written about Jodha and Akbar's love story in history, how has it been shown on celluloid? Ash: It's a historical piece and, at the same time, within that director Ashutosh Gowariker has shown a love story. It is his interpretation, along with certain aspects of history. Obviously since there is not much written about their love story, Ashutosh has the scope to explore it guess. It's a lot of hard work just like all big productions. I have this experience from Devdas. In every shot, there is a lot of detailing. The sets are grand, so are the costumes. It takes a lot of time in the making, but finally it is worth every minute. Hrithik and I feel that this is one of those rare films where we have no visual reference. We have never seen the monitor. We do whatever the director says. I guess, we will eventually see the film only when it's complete.

It's Italy for Hrithik after IIFA
June 14, 2007
Hrithik is now holidaying in London and then in Italy, shooting for Jodhaa-Akbar will continue in the last week of June.

Hrithik Roshan will not return to India along with his colleagues now that the Indian International Film Awards is over. He is now holidaying in London and then in Italy. The Most Stylish Actor of 2007 is expected to return in the last week of June to shoot for Jodhaa Akbar. A source close to the family said "the family has found it hard to go on holiday together in the past, so, they've decided to continue celebrating Hrithik's win as they have all found time this month."

Hrithik Roshan was praised for his role in the film 'Krissh' which was one of the blockbusters of last year and now will adorn a totally different identity as Mughal emperor Akbar. Jodha Akbar is the sixteenth century love story of Akbar and a Rajput princess Jodhaa. But little did he know, the princess who was only a pawn in his game would turn out ot be the love of his life. Jodhaa changed Akbar's attitude toward their marriage and he started to treat her as his wife rather than as a political weapon.

Hrithik is very happy with his performance as Akbar and is looking forward to its release. "But he is also anxious because he knows post Dhoom 2, the expectations have increased multifold", says the friend. "He wants to use this break to spend much awaited time with his family. He knows once the film nears the release date, he will be absolutely tied up with its promotional activities."

Hrithik's deal with Adlabs has also come through. Three films in three years with director and co-star of his choice. With an income of Rs 35 crores. Then there's his father Rakesh Roshan's sequel to Krissh. Whew! With so much work, it's only natural that he would like to take a break from it all to spend time with biwi-bachcha.

Hrithik rules
June 14, 2007
An article posted on Mid-day while I was away, choreographer Brinda talks about some of the actors she has worked with and said she would like to work with Hrithik.

I haven't had the opportunity to work with him but would love to. He is the best dancer in India today and his style is outstanding. He had a particular style before he did Lakshya with Prabhudeva choreographing him and then you could see how his style changed and became more versatile. Prabhudeva is a wonderful choreographer and he made him do things differently and Hrithik delivered on that. It was not only the dance itself but the expressions on his face. It was amazing. Prabhu won the National award for it very deservedly. Where Hrithik is concerned he is so far ahead of everyone that if he is dancing with a group of dancers you are mesmerised by him alone and have no eyes for anyone else. It isn't easy to compete with him. He is fabulous. He can do anything so he is a choreographer's delight.

It's a deal, says Hrithik, finally
June 11, 2007
TOI reports that Hrithik has finally signed the Rs 35 crore-three-film deal with Adlabs.

Hrithik has finally signed the Rs 35 crore-three-film deal. And the confirmation of this comes straight from the horse's mouth - Manmohan Shetty himself . "Yes, Hrithik has signed the deal. It is for doing three films with us over three years. That means he will put aside a bulk of his prime dates for doing those films with us." And what kind of films will they be? "

At this moment, all I can reveal is that we are looking at larger-than-life films with Hrithik obviously in the lead." Will a sequel to Krrish be a part of these three films? "No," says Manmohan. "That is Rakesh Roshan's baby and will remain so. We are looking at other scripts. Hrithik has already seen a few of them, and in a couple of months, we should be able to finalise the first film," he adds.

Rakesh Roshan, on his part confirms, "Yes. He has signed it. He's looking at a few scripts now," he told us. Ask him for further details and he says, "At this moment , only the scripts are being read and readied. As for the rest, I guess Manmohan and Hrithik will have to discuss things."

But our source tells us, "Hrithik has accepted the first installment from Adlabs. Hrithik is extremely choosy about his characters and maybe that's the reason he made some changes to the first script as well. The script will be reworked according to the changes."

Apparently, Hrithik gets to decide his costars, directors and the cast for all the three films. And, if sources are to be believed, John Mathew Mathan will be directing the first film, "Right now he is one of the names being considered strongly by Adlabs and Hrithik," says the source.

Hrithik to perform an item number in Krazzy Four
June 11, 2007
Hrithik will perform an item number in Krazzy Four, a movie that is produced by Rakesh Roshan.

It came as a surprise when Rakesh Roshan announced that his film Krazy 4 will not be directed by him but Raja Sen. The comedy which stars an array of actors from Arshad Warsi, Irrfan Khan, Juhi Chawla and Rajpal Yadav has come up with another surprise. Earlier it was said that Roshan Jr, Hrithik will not be starring in the film, but now Hrithik is said to be doing an item number in the film. The song which is composed by Rajesh Roshan will be shot on a sprawling set and will also mark Hrithik's debut as an "item" dancer.

Hrithik survives major mishap
June 11, 2007
Hrithik was involved in a car accident on his way to Karjat for the shooting of Jodhaa-Akbar but he's okay.

The news that Hrithik Roshan had been involved in a car accident got his fans worried, but his father , Rakesh Roshan, said he was not hurt during the mishap and was fine. The accident took place on Monday night while Hrithik was on his way to Karjat for the shooting of Ashutosh Gowarikar's Jodha Akbar .

"Yes, there was an accident. Nowadays, Hrithik is shooting in Karjat for Jodha Akbar. At around 9.30 pm, Hrithik was in the backseat of his car, when the car behind him bumped into it. Before Hrithik and the driver knew what was happening , a truck from behind hit both Hrithik's car and the other vehicle," said Rakesh Roshan. "Fortunately Hrithik was unhurt. Even our car got away with just a few scratches," he added.

Another report from IndiaFM

Bollywood heartthrob Hrithik Roshan's S-class Mercedes was badly dented on Sunday night due to a road accident near Panvel. The actor who was in the car and was on his way to Karjat for the shoot of Jodha Akbarescaped unhurt.

Reportedly there was a Zen ahead of Hrithik's car which wasn't giving way even after repeated honking from Hrithik's driver Sushil. After repeated attempts Hrithik's driver managed to overtake the Zen. After getting the lead the Mercedes slowed down a bit. Then suddenly the Zen car driver who was apparently drunk bumped into Hrithik's car. A Bolero which was traveling quite close to the Zen jammed hard but hit by a truck from behind it rammed into the Zen. Had the accident happened at a higher speed one can only imagine the consequences.

According to sources Hrithik even came out of his car and tried to confront the driver of the Zen. But seeing his drunken state he left the place. Despite the accident Hrithik went ahead to Karjat for the shoot of Jodha Akbar

The Mercedes car in which Hrithik was traveling is only second of its kind in the whole of India. Karan Johar owning the other one. The Roshans car has been sent for repairs to the company.

Hrithik impresses Cannes audience with Jodhaa-Akbar promos
June 11, 2007
A promo of Jodhaa-Akbar was shown at Cannes and audiences were impressed by Hrithik's performance

Hirthik makes more money for Bollywood with a single film like Dhoom 2 or Krrish than other Bollywood heroes do with ten films. Hrithik is younger than most top heroes of Bollywood and has a longer and varied career ahead.

News from Cannes says that the promos of Ashutosh Govarikar's Jodhaa Akbar, showing him fighting with an elephant in this historical magnum opus, fascinated audiences and film festival participants so much, that buyers from Germany, France, South Africa etc. have shown great interest in the film. Bombay Times reports that reps from Venice and Rome are eager to include the film in their festivals.

Most insiders agree that Hrithik is the fittest hunk in Bollywood and is pointed in the right direction with healthy habits and right values. He underplays his star status and concentrates on his assignments with such vigor that his performances are outstanding in every genre. From zooming around on bikes and jumping down precipices with his heroines, he has done it all – but he is open to new feats of action and new frontiers of acting in every new venture he accepts!

Another report from Bollyvista

Ashutosh Gowariker and Ronnie Screwvala are the two Indian filmmakers who have made it to the list of top 60 people to watch out for at Cannes 2007 according to Variety. The latest epic 'Jodhaa Akbar' made more than its presence at the 60th Cannes Film Festival. The first two minutes trailer of 'Jodhaa Akbar' was showcased amidst international buyers and media and it was much appreciated.

A marvelous scene was shown where Hrithik was fighting an elephant and he looked splendid in the costume. "Splendid Visuals," remarked a trade analyst. 'Jodhaa Akbar' is a sixteenth century love story about a marriage alliance that gives birth to the true love between the great Mughal emperor Akbar and the Rajput princess, Jodhaa. Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai are playing the lead roles. Produced by UTV and Ashutosh Gowariker Productions, the film is slated for an October 12th 2007 release.

Action director Allan Amin on what makes Hrithik Roshan and Abhishek Bachchan tough men but lovable boys.

I first worked with Hrithik Roshan during 'Mission Kashmir'. I put him on harness and cable as early as then. Doing 'Dhoom 2' is my most recent work with him. Hrithik is very hard working. He learnt the roller blade, snow boating and riding the bike for 'Dhoom 2'. Hrithik is very fond of non-vegetarian fare. So once, on the sets, I cooked crabs, fish and chicken for him, which he enjoyed greatly.

At work he remains serious. He doesn't laugh or joke much, which in a way is good for me. He's a quick learner. One of my boys enacts the stunts and he immediately picks it up. We completed the waterfall shot in 'Dhoom 2' within half an hour. We shot the helicopter scenes in Nambidia. Susanne, his wife, was present then. She trusts me completely.
