Kissa Kismat Ka

Hrithik has denied the reports that he has opted out of Zoya Akhtar's "Kismat Talkies"

Hrithik, who was startled on reading the news, clarifies, "Of course, I am working with Zoya. We are very excited about what we are planning. Farhan, Zoya, Ritesh and I know each other since we were kids. So I am really looking forward to working with all of them."

Last week, Zoya Akhtar had spoken about signing Hrithik and Kareena for her film, Kismat Talkies, saying that she is waiting for their reply. She sounded positive about the way things are shaping up. "I have approached both of them for the film and they haven't denied it so far. There are a lot of date hassles which actors face for some reason or the other and I understand that. It's a part and parcel of filmmaking. But I am positive about starting the film soon," she said.

When Ritesh Sidhwani was questioned about the casting confusion, he laughed it off saying, "I just spoke to Kareena, who is in Goa, some time back and she was laughing about this news. In fact, there is something else as well which has the two of them (Hrithik and Kareena) excited and we still have Kareena's dates. We had planned Kismat Talkies much earlier. But Hrithik's Jodha Akhbar schedule got postponed further as Dhoom:2 got delayed. Ashutosh is a dear friend and making a historical film takes time. We understand the problems that arise and should be accommodating of each other."

He reacts to the reports, "It's quite irresponsible and strange. Kareena is excited about the film. Since Kismat Talkies has been delayed, she has given the dates allotted to us to another production house. But, she has given us dates for a laterschedule. Her first priority is Zoya's film."

Hrithik and Kareena out of Kismat Talkies?
posted by Jas, 02/27/07
Mid-Day reports that both Hrithik and Kareena Kapoor have opted out of Zoya Akhtar's "Kismat Talkies"

We were the first to tell you (on January 3) that Hrithik Roshan is having second thoughts about doing Zoya Akhtar's directorial debut Kismat Talkies. It's now official: Roshan Jr has opted out of Zoya's film. As if that wasn't bad enough, co-star Kareena Kapoor too has given the project a miss.

Producer Ritesh Sidhwani had earlier told us that they would start filming in May 2007 as Kareena had given dates from then on, but after Hrithik started demanding changes in the script, Zoya went hunting for a new hero. It is learnt that she spoke to Akshay Kumar, but he too gave her the cold shoulder.

Now, we've learnt that Kareena has allotted the same dates to Socha Na Tha director Imtiaz Ali's next film. A source says, "Once Hrithik opted out, Kareena decided not to do the film either. Also, she knew that the film wouldn't start on time, so she decided to utilise those dates for Imtiaz's film." When contacted, Imtiaz excused himself from telling us when he is starting his film with Kareena. "I am sitting with some people. Let's talk later," he said. The source adds, "Things haven't been easy for Zoya from the time she planned the film. She was supposed to make her debut with a film titled Luck — By Chance in 2004. Unfortunately, the film never took off.

Now, she is hopping mad. First, Hrithik took her for a ride. Now, Kareena's decision has sent her into a tizzy." When contacted, Zoya did not categorically deny that Hrithik and Kareena were not doing Kismat Talkies. But her tone clearly suggested that she was in no mood to defend the actors who have given her so much anxiety. She said, "Kareena's hasn't given me any dates yet, nor have we asked for them.

As of now, she is still doing the film. I haven't been informed otherwise. As for Hrithik, there is no status." Zoya also did not endorse Sidhwani's statement that the film will go on floors in May. "We have not yet decided when we will start the film. I've been very busy with Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd," she added. Kareena remained unavailable for comment, but a source close to her said, "Kareena's not walked out of the film. Zoya hasn't told her anything about it yet. The film has been tentatively delayed, that's all."

2006 proved that the new superstar on the block was Hrithik Roshan. And so it came as no surprise when Hrithik won this year's Filmfare award for Best Male Actor in a leading role for 'Dhoom 2'. Hrithik, who was also nominated for his performance in 'Krrish', underplayed his contribution as expected.

"It feels great, its Filmfare, its an acknowledgment of all the hard work that we all put in as a team in Dhoom 2, and I stand here as a symbol of that team work," said Hrithik. Hrithik beat competitors like Aamir Khan, Sanjay Dutt and Shahrukh Khan. SRK, who was nominated for 'Don' and 'Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna'and is well-known for his love for awards, didn't seem too concerned about losing out.

"No, no, no. I am never disappointed, see my logic is very simple. If I get it the awards look good, if I don't get it they don't know what they're doing...nah (laughs). I had a great time, I think (Hrithik) deserved it completely. I'm ok, as long as I am entertaining people," said SRK.

    Hrithik on a roll
    February 23, 2007
A sneak preview of Hrithik's performance at the upcoming Filmfare Awards, see photo

When we read about Hrithik's illness in the papers just a day before his performance for the 52nd Fair One Filmfare Awards, 2006, we were wondering how the star would be able to perform. However, the moment Hrithik entered dressed in black body-hugging suit we forgot all our worries. Here was Hrithik with just as much Dhoom in him as ever before.

The performances of the ace dancer went off brilliantly, with Hrithik getting the sequence correct in just one take most of the time. But the dancers of Shiamak's troupe were equally a dream to watch with vivid outfits that looked stunning on perfectly sculptured bodies. Hrithik reviewed each performance of his on the screen and only okayed the takes when he was satisfied. In one incident, he wasn't too happy with a shot and told the light guys to black out everyone on stage but himself. It was done the change in effect was dramatic!

During another seqeunce Hrithik couldn't get his breakdance perfect as there wasn't enough friction on the stage. An assistant scraped the soles of his shoes with a knife to give him a better grip, but Hrithik would not perform till he had Pepsi. The Pepsi was brought, but far from drinking it, Hrithik poured it on the studio floor and stepped into it. The sticky nature of the cola gave him enough grip for a great performance!

Hrithik's first performance was his trademark ' Ek pal ka jeena' from Kaho Na Pyaar Hai, followed by 'Main hoon don', from Don. He also performed to 'Dhoom machale'. But 'Rock n roll soniye', which he has performed with kids was by far the most endearing. About 50 youngsters dressed in bright orange saris and black suits put their best foot forward along with Hrithik in this number.

Fly like Hrithik for Rs 75,000 an hour
    February 23, 2007
That's probably how much it cost Hrithik for the chopper he hired.

If you're planning to hire a chopper like Hrithik Roshan to make quick trips to and from Mumbai, be prepared to shell out a huge sum for it. Says V Yadava, the regional manager of Juhu airport, from where Roshan has been flying out daily to shoot for Jodha Akbar in Karjat, "Hrithik must be paying at least Rs 75,000 per hour to fly to Karjat, as it takes almost an hour to get there and back." Such flights of fancy!

Hrithik, Salman…: Fit hai toh Hit Hai!
    February 23, 2007
A look at some of Bollywood actors' body.

    Hrithik Roshan
The actor has worked very well on his body and has the fittest body in Bollywood today. When he started his career, his body showed imbalance with huge arms and a comparatively thin body. But today he has worked on his abs, chest, legs - almost everything and thus has an absolutely proportionate body.

    Hrithik's short story
    February 21, 2007
Hrithik has commented on what he said about Amir Khan and Salman Khan on Koffee with Karan

An off-the-cuff, joking remark by Hrithik Roshan about his colleagues Aamir Khan and Salman Khan has raised eyebrows across Bollywood. During the 'Rapidfire' round of Koffee with Karan, the Karan Johar asked Hrithik which of the two Khans, Aamir and Salman, would he like to work with. To this Hrithik, tongue firmly in cheek, observed there wasn't much of a choice since they were both of the same height! As audiences, we laughed a lot at that. But apparently the remark has not gone down too well in the more conservative sections of Bollywood who feel that Hrithik deliberately took a potshot at the two Khans' inferior height.

"Come on!" Hrithik laughs. "If people really took offence to my spontaneous remark, then I must say we really lack a sense of humour. My comment on Aamir-Salman should be taken in the right spirit. I certainly didn't mean any disrespect to Salman or Aamir. In fact, after the comment on their height, my next statement was, 'That's the only department where I can score over them'. Aamir and Salman have such awesome talent. They're legends. It'll take me years to get anywhere near them." Karan Johar laughed too. "Surely even a perfectionist like Hrithik is allowed to have fun on my show. And the remark on Aamir and Salman was certainly not meant to offend. I'm amazed at how seriously we take ourselves in the industry," he said.

    After Saif, Hrithik falls ill
    February 21, 2007
Our hero is down with a fever again, Hrithik said he is "completely bed ridden" after working non stop, travelling between Mumbai and Karjat shooting Jodhaa-Akbar and then to Singapore shooting another ad. Poor thing, sometimes he forgets that he's only human.

After shooting round-the-clock for Ashutosh Gowariker's Jodha Akbar, flying back each evening to rehearse for the Filmfare Awards and shooting for an ad in Singapore, Hrithik Roshan is down with a severe attack of viral fever. "I'm completely bed-ridden," Hrithik said from his home on Wednesday. "I've been working round-the-clock shuttling between Mumbai and Karjat. Then I also took off to Singapore for an ad.

All the time, I had high fever but was keeping it down with Paracetemol tablets. Today is the first day I'm resting. Post Saif's illness, I think we actors need to take care of ourselves." Lately, Hrithik has also became self-indulgent with his food habits. "I'd been working out really hard to tone up for Dhoom:2, so I decided to give my body a break. I splurged for a while, but now I need to get back into shape.

Therefore after shooting and rehearsing for my Filmfare performance, I was also going to the gym. On top of all this, Ashutosh (Gowariker) hadn't warned me that we'd be doing sword-fighting sequences over the last 20 days when I was in and out of Mumbai and Karjat. All this has taken its toll. I'm completely exhausted and burning with a fever."

He brightens up while speaking about his role as Akbar. "I've enjoyed playing everyone, from Rohit in Koi Mil Gaya to Aryan in Dhoom:2. But playing Akbar is a different challenge, as it required a lot of researched attention. The Urdu professor who called on location to check our accents is happy. He hasn't been complaining yet, so I guess I'm doing it right," says Hrithik, who is in no mood to sign another film just yet. "At the moment, I need a break after Jodha Akbar. One has to learn to listen to the warning signals from one's body."

Hrithik to perform at the Filmfare Awards
    February 21, 2007
An article about actors health confirms that Hrithik is rehearsing for the upcoming Filmfare Awards in which he is nominated for two Best Actor awards for Dhoom 2 and Krrish.

Right now Ashutosh Gowariker's Jodha-Akbar is proving stressful to Hrithik for an extra reason."We've been shooting in Karjat which is about four hours' drive from Mumbai. Every day I've to drive back from Karjat to Mumbai and then back again to start shooting early morning." Reason? Hrithik is rehearsing in the evenings in Mumbai for his performance at the upcoming Filmfare awards.

    Hrithik's new airstyle
    February 20, 2007
Mumbai Mirror has another report on Hrithik hiring a chopper to transport him to and from Karjat, for his shoot for Jodhaa-Akbar, every day. Sister, Sunaina confirms the report.

Hrithik's decision to hire a chopper obviously comes at a huge price. But his friends argue that the star needs to make time for things beyond shooting too. "It suits him fine as he also gets to spend some time with his child, Hrehan and wife Suzanne." says our source. He boards the chopper at Juhu aerodrome in Mumbai, which is convenient for him since he stays in that area. When contacted, Sunaina Roshan confirmed the news, saying, "Hrithik's schedule was very hectic and I guess, this way he saves a lot of valuable time. It just takes him 20 minutes to reach Mumbai this way. Otherwise he simply ended up spending all his time travelling to and from Karjat."

    Interview with Abhishek
    February 20, 2007
Abhishek Bachchan mentions Dhoom 2 and Krrish in his recent interview

Q: Weren't you totally subverted in Dhoom 2 ? A: The first Dhoom was my first success, ACP Jai Dixit and Ali had to be a part of the sequel. In any case, Dhoom has been about villains. John Abraham was tremendous in the first part, the next one had to be bigger and badder the way it is in the Superman and Batman series. I knew what was happening..no matter..it was terrific to work with my childhood friends Hrithik and Uday..and of course Bipasha Basu and Aishwarya Rai.

Q: There has been talk that you're playing a superhero in Drona to upstage Krrish? A: I don't know where such stories start from. We're not catering to each other, we're making films for the audience. Krrish was outstanding. In fact, I'm a die-hard fan of Rakesh Roshanji's films right from Khudgarz, he has that special magical quality which was once a hallmark of Manmohan Desai.

Hrithik's chopper ride to Jodha Akbar
    February 18, 2007
Hrithik has hired a chopper to transport him from the Jodha Akhbar set to Juhu aerodrome to rehearse for an awards night event, probably the Filmfare Awards.

Actor Hrithik Roshan is, apparently, a thorough professional who does not believe in half-measures. Currently he has shifted base to Karjat, approximately 100 kilometre from Mumbai where Ashutosh Gowariker's Jodha Akbar is being canned. Now, given the Mumbai traffic, the commute to Karjat would take him a minimum of three hours one way, so the actor has hit upon a novel idea.

Ashok Vasodia, his secretary revealed to our sources that the star has hired a helicopter that takes off from the set and lands the star at Juhu aerodrome in 15 minutes flat. As soon as the chopper lands, Hrithik has been taking off to rehearse for an awards night. It is noteworthy that Hrithik is picking up the tab for his travels unlike many other star brats who would expect the producers to foot the bill!

    Robbing the Box-Office
    February 17, 2007
Screen India talks about Dhoom 2 success saying that it's part due to a combination of acting talent and technology

It's official. Glamour and technology is the winning combo of the day. Out of a spate of action flicks released this winter, Dhoom : 2 has managed the longest theatre run. Of course, there's stiff competition from Don, but most opinion polls conducted by media houses, websites, and blogs declare Sanjay Gadhvi's film as the winner. In one internet poll, the margin between the two films was 0.44%. A U.S. listing ranks Water and KANK as number one, Dhoom : 2 comes in second, Don at a close third, while Lage Raho Munnabhai and Rang De Basanti almost tie for the fourth place. Dhoom : 2 ranked sixth in the UK Top 10 box-office hit charts, beating Don in the race.

But more intriguing than all the statistics, is the attitude towards the film. The reasons for appreciating Don are pretty transparent - style, hype of the remake, and SRK. Dhoom : 2, on the other hand, is an 147 minute film with more than 40 minutes of special effects. Yet, after a cursory praise of the 'superb', 'scintillating' or 'worldclass' graphics, the emphasis usually shifts to the 'other attractions'. The famous Hrithik - Aishwarya kiss is still being viewed (and demanded) by thousands of surfers everyday. A wave of Hrithik - mania seems to be gripping most of the bloggers, with a vast majority finding him more sexy than Aishwarya or Bipasha. Notably, all the media reviews seem to agree on only one point - the importance of the Hrithik factor of Dhoom : 2. David Chute of Los Angeles Weekly says " Rai and Roshan, gazing at each other with their perfect profiles, revive a form of unself conscious romantic fantasy that survives today almost exclusively in Bollywood." Hrithik injured in swordfight with Aishwarya
    February 15, 2007
Mumbai Mirror reports that Hrithik got injured during a swordfight scene with Ash.

Hrithik Roshan is known for his hard work and dedication. He proved it yet again on the sets of Jodha Akbar, when he continued shooting even after being injured during a swordfighting scene between Aishwarya Rai and him. "While filming a scene where Ash and Hrithik had a fight sequence using swords, Hrithik got injured by Ash's sword.

But that didn't stop him from working and he has been shooting for two days now," reveals a source close to the Roshan family. "He would have liked to spend Valentine's Day with Suzzane but he won't put his personal life ahead of work," adds the source.

This is not the first time that Hrithik has proved his professionalism. During the shooting of Krishh, he was involved in a near-fatal accident at Lau Pasat Hawker Centre in Singapore in October 2005 but he resumed working almost immediately. Even during the rehearsals of Jodha Akbar, he had a fall from a horse, but continued working.

Not every Khan is a hit: Salman Khan
    February 14, 2007
Salman Khan mentions Hrithik in an interview with Hindustan Times.

You think it's the Khans who are still ruling the movies?
I don't think it's the Khans at all. Why, there is Akshay Kumar and Hrithik Roshan - two of the most successful actors today. All this 'Khan ruling Bollywood' business is bunkum. Not every Khan is a hit. Where is Kadar Khan today? Or Fardeen Khan? We don't look at success or failure on the basis of one's race, color or religion. No one does that in Mumbai. Only talent rules here in this industry. And by the way, I think Hrithik is great -, he is someone I simply adore, he was stupendous in Dhoom II.

Preview of Hrithik and Priyanka on Koffee with Karan
    February 14, 2007
Here's a preview and excerpts from the interview with Hrithik and Priyanka on Koffee with Karan which will premiere this Sunday, February 18 at 9 pm on Star One and Star World.

He is truly a superhero in every which way... She is super hot & happening... He’s had the most rocking year in the business... He can dance, fly and boy... he can Dhoom... she is truly the reigning queen of Bollywood

This Sunday meet the mega star Hrithik Roshan, who from being termed as a ‘superb actor’ to now being termed as a ‘sex symbol’ has managed to replace every pin-up boy in the business and has emerged the hottest hunk, only on Koffee with Karan. The second guest is the super hot, very happening and truly the reigning queen of Bollywood, who’s had the biggest blockbusters in her kitty. The charismatic Priyanka Chopra and her Krissh co-star Hrithik chat up with Karan this Sunday, February 18th at 9 p.m. on Star One and Star World!

Hrithik and Priyanka have an absolute ball in the episode as Karan confesses; “I have never had people who talk more than me on my talk show.” The Krissh duo tease, laugh their heart out and let their hair down as they don’t miss any opportunity to mock each other… even taking digs at each others appetite! Hrithik talks about him being slated as a sex symbol, the sexiest compliment he has received so far, his take on his detractors who say that he works best with his father Rakesh Roshan and the much talked about kiss episode of Dhoom-2. Priyanka is also not spared by the hosts’ volley of questions. He probes Priyanka on her much doubted friendship with Kareena Kapoor, if she is currently dating someone, catfights and controversies and lots more!

And just when the set of controversial Q&A wraps up and the two attractive actors are about to lean back with a sigh of relief, Karan announces the rapid fire round! So which actor does Hrithik consider a threat? Shah Rukh, Hrithik or Salman – which co-star would Priyanka like to work again with? Kareena as a friend or Kareena as an acquaintance – what does Priyanka choose? A girl from Indian Cinema who turns Hrithik on? Lot of revelations... Lot of tongue-in-cheek moments...

    Excerpts from the interview:

Karan: What’s the sexiest compliment you have received?
Hrithik: Well .. let me just say that .. there were these whole bunch of SMS’es that I got, in which it was pretty clear that a lot of the girls said that they were very happy .. a long way before the film had climaxed...
Karan: (interrupts) … I know of a lot of women who went to see the film with their husbands or their boy friends … and there were very shattered husbands..at the end of the film.. and you managed to do that ..
Hrithik: It should be something that should motivate them

Karan: Would you call them detractors .. the ones who turned around and said that Hrithik Roshan works only with his father? What would you call them?
Hrithik: Angels .. if it weren’t for them .. I don’t think it would have added that little zing in my drive .. so .. fab .. thank you
Karan: That’s a great grand look at the detractors?
Hrithik: Ya .. they are all angels

Hrithik: You know... If anything ever happened to Krrish … you can easily go ahead and make a super ‘Krisshi’ ..
Karan: Because she is really a super girl ..
Hrithik: She is crazy .. she is a shocker ..

Karan: Tell me, what is the worst criticism you have ever received?
Hrithik: Worst criticism .. I don’t know if you can call it a criticism .. but, here was this magazine which had my face on the cover and said ‘Finished’
    Karan: Finished
    Hrithik: Ya .. Finished ..
Karan: Have you met that person who wrote that today
    Hrithik: Ahh .. No , I don’t need to .. doesn’t matter ..
Karan: You think he or she is just turning in their heads and going completely mad that they wrote something like this..
Hrithik: But great .. it was the best day of my life .. because the truth was so apparent .. they have my face on the cover .. selling the magazine for that month …
Karan: Ya .. That upset you ..
Hrithik: No, it excited me . I was very very motivated .. encouraged .. I know it’s a bit crazy but that’s the way I am.

Karan: It seems to be .. detractors are angels .. and ‘Finished’ is encouraging ..
    Hrithik: Absolutely ..
Karan: So, Hrithik Roshan is Mr. Nice guy .. is it really all that true? ..Are you all that nice .. really?
    Hrithik: Ah .. I guess .. am I?
Karan: I think you are .. Are you really? ..
    Hrithik: Ya .. laughs ..
Karan: Laughs … You are a nice guy .. duggu …

Karan: The over hyped kiss episode of Dhoom .. the whole paparazzi .. the media attention it got .. I believe it was absolutely for no reason .. What do you think?
Hrithik: There was a reason .. for sure ..
    Karan: What was the reason?
Hrithik: The reason is .. some people are just not getting any action .. on a more serious note … I think it is ridiculous .. because from my point of view .. it’s all about creating that one beautiful moment on screen .. it’s about having a vision and giving your whole and soul .. and it doesn’t matter whether you are comfortable or uncomfortable with it .. you know there were all these questions .. were you uncomfortable .. were you awkward .. it doesn’t matter .. you know what’s the most uncomfortable thing in the world is … to stand at the edge of a 50 feet building and jump .. you are risking you’re life there .. but , you do it because I had a vision for Krish .. I had a vision for Aryan’s love story .. and that’s what it is all about .. creating that one special moment … rest all is crap ..
Karan: I thought is it was very aesthetically and beautifully shot ..

    Karan: So having fun …
    Priyanka: Ahhh ..
    Hrithik: Ahh …
Karan: Thanks .. so much for enthusiasm … I sounded so much chirpy and happy … and this is what I get …
Priyanka: No ..no .. good fun ..
Hrithik: You are getting crores for this
Karan: I wish .. not half of what you are getting ..
    Hrithik: That’s true
Karan: I have to work very hard to get the crores .. You shake a leg and you get them
Hrithik: You are almost there ya
Karan: You think I can do like an Aryan ..
Hrithik: Much better .. I have full faith
Karan: And you would laugh the loudest .. if I had to do an Aryan …you know .. sexy and me .. don’t go
    Hrithik: They do ..
Priyanka: What are you saying ..
Karan: only my mother thinks I am sexy … its only her ..
Hrithik: Gift of the gab ya
    Karan: That’s more important … ok ..

    The 'H' factor
    February 14, 2007
Hrithik and Aishwarya Rai are voted ideal celeb dinner date on Valentine's Day

    Looks like it matters
    February 13, 2007
Hrithik mention in an article about looking different in movies.

Designer Anna Singh says, "There's a lot one can do with men. From hair to beards to clothes." Also Hrithik Roshan is emerging as the new master of disguise. From Krrish to Dhoom 2, while in Ashutosh Gowarikar's Akbar Jodha, he is going for the period look with beard and all.

    Hrithik 'Rambo' Roshan
    February 13, 2007
Times Now reports that there's a posibility of Hrithik being 'Rambo 4', they've got to be kidding, I can hear Sly says 'over my dead body' lol!

He's obsessed about his physique and his father has one of the strongest Hollywood hangovers in Mumbai, which makes our knowledge about Hrithik being the next Rambo, very believable.

There is no official confirmation from the Roshans yet, but there is a very strong possibility of Hrithik being ‘Rambo 4’, which is totally in line with his father's constant larger than life vision - the vision which took more than a few leaps with Filmkraft’s superhero flick ‘Krrish’.

If Hrithik playing Rambo turns out to be a reality, it will be his ultimate step to superstardom - a huge step up from donning the combats in ‘Lakshya’, but much in line with the image he tried to portray in the same film.

“A lot of people, when they came into the theatres to see ‘Lakshya’ with me being the central character, I think, expected to see something like the second half of the film, something like Rambo,” Hrithik had said in an earlier interview.

TIMES NOW called both Hrithik’s inner circle and contacts in Hollywood. While nobody was willing to spill the beans, our sources insist that Hrithik Roshan has indeed come very close now to getting his ticket to Hollywood. If it’s Rambo, then our desi superhero is surely flying first class.

Highly reliable sources have confirmed that Hrithik is lined up to play the role of the Afghani boy who grew up to be Rambo’s successor. The news is that the film will be shot in India once Hrithik has completed shooting for Ashutosh Gowariker's ‘Jodha Akbar’. But does our man have what it takes to fill the formidable space created by Sylvester Stallone?

    The right platform

The physical dynamics fit to the T but no matter how endearing Stallone is, Hrithik will score better in the acting department. “I think he's the only Indian actor who looks the part. He's fit enough and, after 'Krrish', this will go into another zone altogether as it's a Hollywood production and they'll spend the right kind of money to give it the right amount of backup,” opined ad film maker Prahlad Kakkar.

For the record, Hrithik hasn’t exactly been running after Hollywood. He turned down a film opposite Jennifer Lopez seven years ago. While Sylvester Stallone gave a befitting farewell to the Rocky series with Rocky Balboa, it seems the Rambo legacy will be carried on and don’t be surprised if the future looks a bit Indian!

    February 11, 2007
An article about superstars' sons and daughters that mentions Hrithik

On the other hand, filmmakers are vying with each other to launch sons of actors who never belonged to the top league. Hrithik Roshan, the son of Rakesh Roshan, is among the top-ranking actors of Bollywood who can command a hefty price. Asked to give examples of star kids who made it big, Pooja Bedi, the daughter of actor Kabir Bedi said, "I think Hrithik is much bigger than his father was. Even Kareena has made it big, so has Kajol (Tanuja's daughter)." Hrithik, Kareena and Kajol's parents were never in Bollywood's A list.

Rakesh Roshan: Hrithik can't do anything alone
    February 9, 2007
New interview with Rakesh Roshan where he talks about Krrish 2 and Dhoom 2

"I'm still working on the script of Krrish 2 ," inform Rakesh Roshan. "But until I am ready and comfortable I am not going to talk about it." Obviously, the film with take the story forward. But will it also continue with the same generation or will he jump to the next generation like he did with Krrish? "It's going to be a continuation of the story. Krrish 2 will continue in the same generation. There will be a lot more SFX in this one too," says the filmmaker.

Shifting tracks, we ask him about his reaction to Amitabh Bachchan's statement that Dhoom 2 can be counted as Abhishek's hit. "When a film runs, every character – whether it's a small role or a big role – contributes to the final outcome," Roshan says diplomatically. "A building cannot stand on one pillar. It's needs the support of many pillars." Even critics have agreed that it is Hrithik's film all the way, we point out. "No film can run because of one actor. It is the combined effort of all the actors which goes into making it," is his stubborn retort. "That's just a way of saying things. People say this is either an Amitabh Bachchan film or a Hrithik film. But other actors too have contributed – to what extent one doesn't know. If the other actors were not there, Hrithik can't do anything alone."

By the looks of it Hrithik had worked extra hard on this one. "Hrithik works hard in every film," says the proud father. What about the rumours that the Bachchans were upset with Hrithik's kissing scene with Aishwarya Rai? "I don't know about that," Roshan clams up, then relents and explains, "I have not heard from them personally. I did read about this somewhere, but I would not like to comment on hearsay."

    Sign language
    February 9, 2007
Read what noted graphologist Surendra Sharma has to say about Bollywood stars from their signatures.

In Hrithik's signature the small 'r' is written in such a way that it indicates 'r' and 'h' both. The small 'r' indicates that whatever heights and success he achieves he will always remain down-to-earth. The other alphabets written in his signature are straight and long, pointing upwards, which indicates that he is very ambitious and hard-working. The hidden 'h' in the 'r' shows that he is very creative and will keep on trying his hand at different things in life. The 'R' in the surname is written in an artistic and rhythmic way and in capitals, which is indicative of the strong influence his father and his family as 'R' is also the initial of his father's name.

    Hrithik refuses to shoot!
    February 8, 2007
According to TOI, our Mr. Perfectionist refuses to shoot because his hair was not in place LOL!

Here's another feather in the cap for Hrithik Roshan apparently, his hair-dresser Kanta who is styling Roshan's hair for Jodha Akbar, is quiet stunned by the actor's penchant for perfection. She was quite pleasantly surprised when she saw that Hrithik was just not willing to shoot until every strand of hair was styled the way it was meant to be, and of course Kanta loved to oblige, because that is exactly what she wanted too. Must say, these two form one 'hairy' mutual admiration society!

    Role play: Hrithik Roshan
    February 5, 2007
Short blurb on Hrithik's look in Dhoom 2

Call him Mr. A or Aryan – Hrithik Roshan surely won back the heartthrob status after his stint with Sanjay Gadhvi's Dhoom 2. Stylist Anaita Shroff Adjania devised his look so as to make him appear scruffy (because he plays the role of a thief) yet sexy (because he has fab abs that can not be ignored). With black leather jackets and breezy shirts, Hrithik stole the show all along in Dhoom 2.

Hrithik Roshan is India's Rocky Balboa?
    February 5, 2007
Delhi Times reports that elebrities at the premiere of Rocky Balboa named Hrithik as an indian actor fit for for the role of Rocky Balboa.

Actor Sylvester Stallone may have entered the ring one last time as Rocky Balboa, and many from the Hindi film industry went to witness this on premiere day. The event was attended by the likes of Arshad Warsi, Deepak Tijori, Bharat Dhabolkar, Anousha Dandekar, Divya Dutta and others. When these actors were asked who, from our industry, would be fit for the role of Rocky Balboa, the majority named none other than Hrithik Roshan. Now, after having observed Duggu's histrionics in the last two Papa Roshan flicks and the more recent Dhoom 2, one couldn't agree more with the majority. What say?

    Abhishek finds Hrithik 'wilde'
    February 2, 2007
Words of wisdom from Hrithik to Abhishek.

Everyone loves a quotable quote, dearies. But while the rest of the world talks about Shakespeare and Oscar Wilde, Abhishek Bachchan is sold out on Hrithik's words of wisdom. The actor claims that the most inspiring words he has ever heard are those of Hrithik Roshan. Says Abhishek, "Hrithik once told me, 'There is no tomorrow.'"
